外贴式橡胶止水带又称背贴式止水带或外置式止水带，是一种在地下构筑物混凝土变形缝、沉降缝壁板外侧（迎水面）设置的一种止水构造，具有以止水带的材料弹性和结构形式来适应混凝土伸缩变形的能力。

外贴式橡胶止水带是利用橡胶的高弹性，在各种荷载下产生弹性变形，从而起到坚固密封，有效地防止建筑构造的漏水，渗水并起到减震缓冲作用。在许多工程建筑设计中，土建、水土结构之间都有一定的伸缩要求，并存在防水防震等问题，因此采用和安装橡胶止水带是有效地解决以上种种问题的手段。本产品主要用于混凝土现浇时设在施工缝及变形缝内，与混凝土结构成为一体的基础工程、地下设施、隧道涵洞、输水渡槽、挡水坝等，确保工程建设的使用寿命。在橡胶止水带安装时，如果发现混凝土浇注过程式中部分或全部浇埋在混凝土中，混凝土中有许多尖角的石子和锐利的钢筋头，由于塑料和橡胶的撕裂强度比拉伸强低3-5倍，止水带一旦被刺破或撕裂时，不需很大外外力裂口就会扩大，所以在止水带定位和混凝土浇捣过程中，应注意定位方法和浇捣压力，以免止水带被刺破。

外贴式橡胶止水带是采用国家标准GB18173.2-2006《高分子防水材料止水带》组织生产的。因此可以按用户要求生产各种形状、尺寸的橡胶止水带，另外还为不同工程、不同部位的需要备有十字型，丁字型、斜度型和内外转角型产品，可适用于任何设计要求。在止水带产品在运输时，应避免阳光直射，勿与热源、油类及有害溶剂接触。成品应取直平放，勿加重压。存放场所保持-10℃－+30℃，相对湿度在40%－80%。背贴式橡胶止水带适用范围：应用于地下构筑物、水坝、贮水池、游泳池、屋面以及其他建筑物质和构筑物的变形缝防水。 背贴式止水带的选择可按下列方面进行：要考虑到所要接触介质（如酸、碱、盐、油、溶剂及各种腐蚀气体）对止水带的腐蚀影响。当遇有弱酸、碱类腐蚀介质时宜选用氯丁橡胶止水带。遇有油类腐蚀介质时宜选用丁腈橡胶止水带。如果当遇有霉菌侵蚀的可能时，应考虑橡胶止水带的防霉性，其等级应达到2级及2级以上。对于止水带材质的选择应考虑到使用条件，如温度的影响、紫外线及臭氧老化、多次重复变形等因素。在低温的情况下，宜选用三元乙丙橡胶止水带。
